St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies
Today I got to the game a little later than usual since I came from work and got out a little late so BP was a bust and I than headed over to the wall.
Todd Helton announced his retirement after the season before the game and he signed autographs.
Colin McHugh was the starting pitcher for the Rockies. This was his second start with the Rockies and only his 5th appearance of the year. Matt Carpenter started this game against McHugh with an infield single.
The single was on this deflected ball by troy Tulowitzki.
Lance Lynn was the starting pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. He started the game by walking Corey Dickerson, who scored 2 batters later on a Tulo single. (1-0) Rox
Todd Helton came to the plate to a standing ovation from the Coors crowd. he would strike out to end the second inning for the Rockies.
The Cardinals scored a run in the 5th to tie the game at 1.
Colin McHugh pitched 5 complete innings giving up , run 4 hits, striking out 2.
The Rockies got out of the 6th inning with a double play, Matt Holliday hit a ball to….
D.J. LeMahieu who threw to Josh Rutledge at second…
…to Helton at first. Nolan Arenado was taken out of the game in the 3rd, D.J. LeMahieu moved to third and Josh Rutledge came into play second. Nolan was taken out because of an injury to his finger.
Rutledge getting on base with a single in the 7th inning. The Rockies would score their second run of the game this inning when Wilin Rosario scored on a Charlie Blackmon single (2-1) Rox
Lance Lynn was taken out of the game in the 7th. he pitched 6 1/3. Giving up 6 hits, 2 runs, walked 1 and struck out 4.
After Drew Pomeranz pitched after McHugh and was then replaced by Matt Belilse Chad Bettis pitched in the 8th.
Matt Carpenter hit a double in the 8th to score Pete Kozma.
That would tie up the game at 2.
During a pitching change or middle of an inning they did a Todd Helton plays on the score board.
Batting in the 8th he had one of his not so great plays running into an out at home. The Rockies scored a run on a Wilin Rosario single scoring Tulo that advanced Todd to third.
Charlie Blackmon hit a double to score Tyler Chatwood . Chatwood was pinch running for Rosario. (4-2) Rox

That is it for this one from the first game of the Cardinals series. The Rockies won this one 6-2.
I was at all 4 of these games and will be getting up the rest of the games and all the remaining games at Coors for the season.
